Yesterday the San Jose Sharks put up their 50th win and took a commanding four point lead over the 2nd place Detroit Red Wings. With a new coach and a new mind set will the cup head back to Cali? If they play like they did in the past then, I doubt it.
Since the lockout the Sharks haven't finished below 5th place in the Western Conference but, all three years they exited the playoffs in only the second round. This stat really bothered the front office so they decided to hire an assistant coach who knew how to win a cup. Todd McLellan, sat behind the bench of the Red Wings for so long that winning was a second nature. This Canadian native has a ton of talent to work with so I wouldn't be surprised if the Sharks can win their first cup in June of 2009.
